The Appalachian Trail
This 2,100 mile foot trail passes through Clarksburg State Park. It was designated as the first Scenic National trail in 1968. The Trail stretches from Katadin in Maine to Springer Mountain in Georgia. Passing through some of the best forest land in the country, the Trail is strictly for hiking. It was conceived in 1921 by Benton McKaye. The Trail passes over Mt Greylock and Mt Everett and through the Housatonic Valley.
Clarksburg State Park
Its scenic views make it a favorite among outdoor enthusiasts, it offers tremendous possibilities for hiking, camping, swimming and fishing. It is 2,933 acres of unspoiled woodland. Best time to visit is from early May to mid-October.
Musterfield House
Built in 1785, it is a well-preserved historic home in Clarksburg. It has six stone fireplaces.
